Ashvin Immanuel Devasundaram
Ashvin Immanuel Devasundaram has an M.A in Mass Communications from the University of Bedfordshire. He has worked as a documentary filmmaker with Channel 4, also producing and directing an independent short film ‘Crossing the Bridge’, which was screened at BAFTA, in London. Ashvin recently won the Edinburgh University Literary Award 2012, organised by the French Film Festival UK and the University of Edinburgh. He has presented papers and chaired panels at several film studies conferences in the UK, Europe and India. His forthcoming publications include an essay on the film ‘The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel’. Ashvin is currently writing up his PhD thesis on the socio-ideological impact of new independent Indian cinema at Heriot-Watt University, Edinburgh, in the Department of Languages and Intercultural Studies.
Ruta Kuzminskaite has been engaged with emerging Cambodian filmmakers since 2009. She has lived and worked in Cambodia since 2009 in various grassroots development activities, during her time in the country she has developed numerous contacts with emerging artist community in Seam Reap, Battabang and country's capital - Phnom Penh. Ever since her first stint she is actively involved in promoting young filmmakers work, always keeping an eye for interesting names and closely following any developments in the scene.
