New Methods in the Study of Carbohydrates in Cancer Development
I'm from the School of Chemistry and funded by Cancer Research UK. There is a network of carbohydrates in-between your cells and attached to cell walls. This network is involved in cell communication and movement, and is linked to cancer development but little is known about it. My PhD is about creating new ways to label these carbohydrates, study them and their interactions, and determine their 3D structures so we can understand more about how cancer develops.
