Beata Skobodzinska is a project and events manager with 15 years of experience in developing and delivering programmes promoting diversity, inclusion and integration.
Formerly CEO of the European Youth Parliament (2006-2011), Just Festival’s Coordinator and Director (2012-2019), EUROCITIES Conference Youth Programme Manager (2018), Beata is currently working for the City of Edinburgh Council Culture Service as Diversity Officer (2019-). In her role she supports ethnically diverse artists and creatives through creating opportunities to increase visibility and representation of ethnically diverse people, work and narratives across Edinburgh’s arts and culture sector.

What will I learn?
All the events manager’s hats: how to manage events and people in a fast-paced setting?
As an events manager you are expected to support and deliver multiple projects and liaise with diverse groups of stakeholders, including event contributors, attendees, staff, volunteers and funders. This session will provide you with information on how to manage relations with multiple stakeholders while delivering activities and (festival) events in a fast-paced setting. Looking into event development and (financial) management, PR and communications as well as monitoring and reporting, you will gain a better understanding of how to plan schedules, prioritise actions and trouble-shoot problems.
Do I need any experience?
NO this event is suitable for people with little or no experience. Beata Skobodzinska will talk you through all the different aspects of the role and will then be able to have a conversation about her career and how he started in the industry.
