Just Academy

Connecting Third Sector and Creative Practitioners

Free DROP-IN sessions for Third Sector and creative practitioners

Supported by the Voluntary Action Fund, our Just Skills Academy drop-in workshop sessions engage individuals, Third Sector representatives and creative practitioners in sharing stories of successful collaboration and ideas for joint projects.

Our two-hour long training workshops include case studies presented by organisations that delivered joint expressive arts projects that enhanced the visibility of Third Sector organisations or community initiatives. Be it drama, dance, music, poetry, or visual arts, we explore expressive arts as a means to better engage wider public in the activities of Third Sector organisations and offer new opportunities to service users, staff and volunteers to share their stories.

We are working in collaboration with Active Inquiry, The Alma Project, Shakti Women’s Aid, Bethany’s Christian Trust, Strange Town, Fathers Network Scotland, HarmonyChoir, MercyCorps, Impact Arts, Edinburgh College, and many more share great practice and facilitate new ideas.

Each workshop session includes a case study, group discussions, speednetworking and events management tips.

Our February-March 2019 schedule includes drop-in sessions hosted at St John’s Church / Cornerstone Centre (Princes Street, Edinburgh EH2 4BJ) on every Tuesday between 15:30 and 17:30 commencing on 5th February 2019. Light refreshments are provided to all participants. Everyone is welcome!
